You can use this amount to figure out what you'll be paying on a $200,000 mortgage which would be $908.16. In many cases, you could be paying less in mortgage payments than rent. So, why pay someone else's rent when you can own your own home. A lot of folks I know are taking in a college student, international student or room-mate to help further reduce their payments.
